The Volunteer Action Centre services support both community members and organizations that are engaged in or provide volunteer programs and services. If you are a volunteer looking for a position or an organization looking for support with the management of your volunteers - there are services for all!

  • Recruitment and Referral - including our online database and networking with cross sectoral audiences.
  • Training and Consultation - for  professional development and organizational strength.
  • Advocacy - representing the non profit sector and building capacity through community connections with government, education and corporate partners. 

STAY INFORMED via our WEEKLY UPDATES that feature priority positions, local events, employment opportunities with our members, and other not for profit news.

TRAINING AND CONSULTING

The Waterloo Wellington Learning Alliance (WWLA) offers professional development learning events on topics such as; volunteer management and engagement, board governance, leadership, organizational systems and wellness. Customized consultation with its associate consultants in a wide area of expertise is also available.

WWLA is a partnership between the volunteer centres of KW, United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries and Guelph/Wellington. Everyone is welcome to attend.

NETWORKING EVENTS

The Volunteer Action Centre facilitates two professional networks for:

  • Executive Directors - first Thursday of each month. 
  • Volunteer Manager Networsk - NEXT MEETING is Wednesday, May 3rd, from 11:30 to 1 p.m.

These networks meet to create and informal shared learning environment among peers. Invitations to join the next meetings are sent via email to VAC members. Guests are also welcome.

CODE for VOLUNTEER INVOLVEMENT

Volunteer Canada created the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement (CCVI) to support organizations that engage volunteers.

The CCVI is a framework for involving volunteers in all levels of an organization.
