Position: Homework & Recreation - New Canadian Youth Connections
Location: The Church of Saint John the Evangelist - 23 Water St N, Kitchener, ON N2H 5A4, Canada
Impact Statement: Supports refugee youth to build positive peer support networks and meaningful relationships with volunteers. This program helps improve their English language skills and helps to build a sense of belonging in the community.
Description: Weekly recreational activity (Rec Night) or Homework program alongside newcomer refugee youth 12-21 yrs of age. Meaningful connections can be continued in the form of a support circle. The circle supports youth during their first year in Canada and beyond.
Training Details: Two evenings of training from 6:30-8:30 pm at Community Justice Initiatives Waterloo Region 49 Queen St. N.

Working Conditions: We have access to rooms at St. John's Church in Kitchener (corner of Water and Duke St). Games could include basketball or volleyball.
Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening
Time Detail: Homework program every Monday & Wednesday - 4:30-6:30 pm.
Recreational nights are every Thursday - 4:30-6:30 pm.
